First up, Counterpoint congratulates Ann Telnaes on winning the 2025 Pulitzer Prize in Illustrated Reporting and Commentary. She earned the honor “for delivering piercing commentary on powerful people and institutions with deftness, creativity – and a fearlessness that led to her departure from the news organization after 17 years.”

Which makes it all the more striking that she won the Pulitzer for The Washington Post — the very paper she left earlier this year in protest over editorial freedom. Irony, it seems, is not dead.
