“Republicans, as usual, are the first to complain about cancel culture yet are quick to try to cancel any company that stands up to them. Major League Baseball is exercising its right to disagree with bills aimed to suppress anyone’s ability to vote, by moving the All-Star Game out of Georgia. In turn, Republicans are boycotting the MLB. More companies should follow that lead. What are Republicans going to do—cancel every company in America?” - MD

“President Biden has called Georgia’s new voting law “Jim Crow on steroids.” That’s ridiculous on its face and minimizes the true hideousness of actual Jim Crow laws — but it sure does light up the partisan outrage receptors in people’s brains. Major League Baseball was pressured to pull out of Atlanta for the All-Star Game and other large Georgia corporations were spurred to issue denouncements all because Democrats have been ladling the demagoguery and misinformation on thick. There’s nothing racist about setting reasonable, uniform voting rules that actually expand access compared to prior law. Claiming otherwise is just partisanship on steroids.” - NB
